Panel Storage Question
Panel Storage Question
Just got my HHR Panel and was wondering if the storage unit behind the front seats can be removed? It appears to be seperate from the back storeage unit.
There would be more storage room without this unit because the 2 storage compartments don't really hold much. I know some have removed this unit and put in seats and I'd be curious to know whats under the unit.
Thank you.

He talks about two bolts and 2 torx bolts on the top of the box, I don't see them on mine, I see two bolts for the tie-downs and torx bolts holding the latch for lids. I do see a seam running around the box that looks like it might pop up but I didn't even try, too cold, afraid it will crack. Hopefully, somebody will bail me out here

The box does come out. It is almost exactly the size of the non-panels rear seat. You do need to be careful, apparently the manufactuer never thought the frame for the bin would be handled by blood pumping humans, as the edges are razor sharp!
Thank you for the responses. What a great forum and knowledgable members. It makes owning an HHR even better when you a resource like you folks.
Once the unit is removed is the floor space carpeted and is it flat or elevated?
Does the floor space provide a lot more cubic feet for boxes?
