Mike that is not the first time I have heard of that happening. I remember years ago some one taking their front wheel drive to the garage to have snow tires installed and they put them on the rear.

Back in 1978, my Aunt Doreen bought one of the first Dodge Omni models anyone had seen in these parts, and right there on the instrument panel it said "Front Wheel Drive".

Chrysler was pretty proud of their little Front Drivers when they came out, but heading North later that year to see relative at Christmas time, we saw another Omni with tire chains on the rear wheels.

Not to single out Prius drivers only, but the "average" person neither knows or cares which wheels do the work, they're just happy the guy/gal at the dealership told them where to put the gas in.(Or Diesel, if they bought a VW, Mercedes, or Audi)

Well they're supposed to, but these days the lot lizards at "Super Mega Motors Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Honda, GMC, Buick, VW, and Goggomobile", are trained to trail after you saying the most annoying sentence in the history of the world.

"What can I do to get you in this car today?", my usual reply is "tap dance on the centerline of I-85S in a Penguin suit while waving sparklers, and I'll think about it".

lol thanks guys the curb alert seems about right but a bit pricey atm. I re-adjusted the seat so I have a better view of the hood and have been taking my time while parking. I was thinking maybe getting one of those stick-on rear view mirrors that add extra POV to the current mirrors, but it will depend if they work with aesthetics of the car.

Have you considered old-fashioned curb whiskers?

Or maybe a backup camera? I think there is a how-to somewhere here.

Yeah, Britjoe, put dual cameras in his panel to assist with backing into traffic!

That's another solution I was thinking, but since backing up isn't much an issue in my case, I preferred to leave it as a future project. Al thought I do find annoying when people don't keep their distance and their bumpers disappear below the tailgate door :
