You're right. The join date of HHRXM was 9/26 not the original post date.

After being in a (relatively) serious car accident, it would be nice to have OnStar for the airbag notification, etc. I had wished that my ION had it too. And if you upgrade to their other package, the directions and other features are handy. Worth the money in my opinion but I had to take what was on the lot.

Same here, I grabbed what was on the lot, mainly because they had the color & certain options I wanted. I actually got more options that I originally wanted.

The On-Star option probably isn't available after-the-fact? I'll have to check into the details, unless someone here already knows?

I talked to a Dealer Salesman yesterday and asked why Onstar was stock on my 2005 Suburban and not on my 2006 HHR. He told me that onstar on the HHR would drive up the sticker cost almost a $1000 To keep the price down on vehicles like the HHR and Cobalt, they won't install it from the factory.

Thanks for the info Ng... now that makes sense. I didn't realize that it was a $1000 option.

There's no doubt that it would raise the base price if it was standard, but I thought it was only a $695 or $795 option. That's how much it was on the Saturn ION before they made it standard across the board for 2006. You can get one for $13,500 and it'll have Onstar I'm not sure if you can get the hardware after-market or not. I guess anything is possible for the right price.
