Finally finished... I used a 1" steel cap that I found at Home Depot. This is just for now until I find a 1.25" Reverse Camera. I have an 1.5" now, but is way too big.

I'm planning this mod the next time my wife is out of town... she pops a cork every time I do something to my daily driver (I've already got the Wallet Eater-- see pic in sig to 'waste' money on).

I understand this mod for appearance reason, but I just don't see why you don't have use for a rear wiper?

You're right. Why would I question wanting to see out of your rear window on a rainy day. I'm enlightened.

I've never had a rear wiper. I've always thought they were silly. I don't know if I'd use it during a rain, probably not. Hard to say as I haven't driven in the rain yet -- hot and dry this time of year.

I do like the looks without it better.

I've had my Blackie for over 11 months here in the OC and have been in the rain with it many a time..like Kim, never thought to use it as I see fine out the back window.

So off it went.

In fact Tim (Tkhhr and the person who took it off for me & Kim ) took off the water spout chingas on his 2-tone and put a small plug in that--forgot to take a pic of it at breakfast this morning...looks cool!

It has now joined the air filter, and stock springs in the fast growing 'parts i've taken off my hhr' bin.

You're welcome. Aside from the fact that I have not needed it in any amount of downpour, I offer the following comments in no particular order--
  • Rain-X
  • vertical window = very little rain hitting it
  • if pure utility was my only interest, I wouldn't have chosen the HHR
  • It's unlikely you'd be looking out MY rear window on ANY day

I went all last winter without using mine just to see if I needed it.....I didn't! Mine will be removed next time I have some black paint in the gun. BTW - what with all these plugs, doesn't anyone use Bondo anymore?
