Pin Stripe Removal
My 09 SS has two pinstripes down the side of it. I would like to remove them, but am not sure of the best way and wonder if the paint would be a different color under them due to the age of the car.
Any suggestions?

Heat gun or hair dryer then goo gone but you may always have a shadow of difference that can be seen at times. Depends on the color. Mine is black and the previous owner had stripes. I occasionally see a hint.

Happy to report the pinstripes are off. Peeled off in the hot sun. Goo gone and plenty of elbow grease removed the glue. Can't see where they were either.
Thanks for the tips.

I would not suggest using anything stronger than a hair dryer if you have never done it before. Heat guns are made to get very, very HOT! and you run the risk of burning the paint if you don't have any experience with them. Also they make rubber wheels to remove those baked on stripes, but you also have to be careful about burning through the paint with those too. Having friends in the body shop biz you tend to learn a few tricks

eraser wheels work great and you can find them for anywhere from 10 to 30 each and amazing how well they work
for real paint i use easy off oven cleaner
got told about these from a pinstriper I've known since early 80s
