Price of oil change
Agree with whitewolf..... it best to have a good relationship with a dealership. At the dealership i go to, been going there for over 11 years, even if i didnt buy my car there, But i took my car there because of the quality of work they perform.
Can be in and out in less than hour for an oil change.
But sites like this is a asset. And its harder for those service advisors to pull the wool over the eyes so to speak.

I bought a couple PF457G oil filter cartridges from my nearby Saturn dealer and will probably do an oil change on Wednesday after work. I have 2 left thumbs usually when it comes to cars but I can have an oil change done on the HHR within 15-20 minutes from start to finish
It is that simple......and easy....did I mention it was simple to do?

So I would assume the filter is accessible and the drain plug is around --as normal? I just want to do it so I can change the % on the dash
Have any of you seen the "ice possible" on the dash yet? Showed up on me a couple weeks ago. Seems like its a temp sensor that comes on around 32deg
I change my own oil and use synthetic mobil one from walmart. if you visit there on a regular basis they put oil specials on and you can get 5 quarts of mobil one for $18-$19. Buy your tires at a Goodyear Gemini store and you can have your tires rotated and balanced for free at any Goodyear Gemini store nationwide. I ride michelinn.

Couple of notes..Most places rotate tires for free if you buy from them.
My dealer mechanic told me once that the large clunk from my front end was "strut rebound" and was normal. Huh? They finally replace the sway bar bushings, no more "strut rebound". Funny how THAT worked...
As stated above, find a place to change your oil that you TRUST, and stick with them.
Also, I got an empty 5 gallon tranny fluid bucket from a local garage for my used oil. Easier to fill than the individual containers, and I take it to the oil place only every 4 oil changes. And yes, the HHR is an extremely simple oil change, you just need a special tool for the oil filter cap, about 8-10 bucks. I also installed the QuikValve so I never remove the oil pan plug, just flip a lever. It drains very slowly, but no messy hands, stripped threads, or crush washers...

Hi,
I paid $47 Canadian at the dealer, which I thought was a bit excessive, but they gave me a carwash coupon worth $18.95 which lessened the pain somewhat. Also got a large coffee and a newspaper. All told, not bad I think.

Oil Cahnge and Inspection are $25 at my dealership for the wife's Equinox. Not bad, but I haven't gone in for the HHR yet. I believe the SS runs Mobil 1 from the factory so it'll probably cost more.
I have taken all my new cars in for oil changes since 1998. My '69 Camaro and '62 Ford will always be changed by ME with Kendall or Amsoil. And the Camaro with 1 3/4" road race headers is a royal PITA to do!
