Production Figures/Numbers

Is there a source for HHR production numbers? I was curious what the breakdowns were on paint color, transmission type, etc. I have an old Corvette, and there's a ton of info available on it. I was hoping the HHR would have a similar following.

I'm beginning to think that the manual transmission must make up an extremely small percentage of the total. I have yet to see a 5-speed, except at the Auto Show I attended... None of the local dealers have any in stock, and the majority of used ones on the internet appear to be automatics.

I really want a stick shift, but want to hear more about other owner's experiences with it.

Thanks - Mark

I have the 5-speed and love it. Dealership got one from another dealer 150 miles away. Bought it without ever driving a manual HHR. It shifts smooth, plenty of power (I have the 2.4). There are several people on here with manuals.

I'm in VA, near DC/MD/WV I did a used car search on cars.com and found a couple, but none of the dealers locally have any 5spds on their websites (new).

I think when I'm ready to pull the trigger, I'll order one from the factory. After going to the Autoshow yesterday and climbing all over them, I really want the leather seats, and I want the side air bags. I haven't seen any used ones advertised with the side airbags, so I'll just order what I want and pay sticker.

Too bad you're not in AZ. I ordered mine from the factory, 5 spd, leather, side airbags, etc. and paid $100 over dealer invoice (I had a contact at a local dealer).

When I get ready to buy, I may just use up some airline miles and fly down there and drive back. I did that a few years ago, when I bought my vette in Saint Louis. Made for a fun road trip!

You are correct. The manuals are harder to find. I must have looked in every dealership in SC, south GA and most of FL.

I did finally find in FL, but in Miami. I wanted the Daytona Blue with a 5-speed and this was the only one I found. I didn't look in all colors and I was picky on that. I also found a SE in eastern TN that was my scond choice.
