rear bumper cover

My 06 2LT has a deep scratch/gouge on the edge of the rear bumper. Yesterday I put this on it to protect it.

That’s the area that gets the scratches the most.

Its rubber. I got it off of ebay for $6.99. I did have to trim each end to fit. Search on ebay under "hhr rear bumper protection" and you will see it.

I use a piece of plastic that attaches to the rear cargo rings and folds past the bumper cover when I need it. Learned this after the fact I took a lawnmower out and damaged the cover. Took my time and repaired the cover. The shield is used with small cargo rings so I can remove it.

Needs to get a bit closer to the hatch if you are routinely getting a hand truck in/out. Maybe just not poll over the edge.

I looked and looked for 8 years, never found a satisfactory solution.
