Cool Rear Hatch Height Issue.....

I'm just 6ft. tall......close to average now days.
I hit my head on the rear hatch unless I duck. What the heck takes so long to notice that "error" and make a simple change to the angle for a FIX.
One time opening the hatch and the problem was noticed.

"Cumon Chevrolet.....Get your engineering and testing fixed as well.

Anybody else notice this issue ?????

That's an indication of a serious mental and emotional problem. I suggest you see a specialist who treats that problem.

You guys must all be shorties.
I'm talkin about just standing under the hatch on the level ground and having to bend over slightly. Whats That ???? Can't these guys measure?

If indeed it is due to a mental or emotional problem it's probably because I been buying NEW Chevrolets since 1963. Also probably purchased more Chevrolet cars and trucks then any of you Dudes. As many as 3 NEW ones in one model year, not to count the used ones.
My first car was a 1940 2 dr. sedan in 1952. I was hip back when the HHR concept was spawned.
Drag racing in 1954 at the local airport on weekends.

BEEN THERE DONE THAT !!!!!

I also remember regular gas at .18 cents a gallon on the West Coast.

Man, Silverfox, why does it sound like you are pi$$ed??

I was just having some fun with my comments. Notice the "smileys"....geez.

And just so you know, I'm 6-1 and don't have a problem. I don't mean this as a "slam"...... but it only takes one time and I remember to duck after that.

How does the number of cars relate to your problem.....that's confusing???

Hitting your head on the plastic inner panel inside the tailgate is a little annoying, but it's a lot better than ploughing out a piece of your scalp on the protruding latches that used to be common

Snoops,

Sorry, I really didn't take it as a slam....only wanted readers to realize I ain't no Newbee to auto issues, and this issue is real. I really don't think having to remember to duck is anything more than a mental fix. I am surprised that you being 6' 1" are not agreeing. Maybe my Doctor mis-measured me on my last physical. Think I'll check myself.....
It's been something I was going to write to Chevrolet about, but then figured it would just be another piece of paper to go to there shredders.
Believe me when I say that I have seen many screwed up things from GM over all these years. To me this is a simple fix for their engineering. Just slightly change the angle at the hinges. If nobody complains it won't happen.
Same with the window switch positions, cup holders, rocker panel and fender damage, and other issues not quite right from the start.
Please forgive my sarcasm but keep in mind how many years I been around this industry.

I guess that is why someone is changing their HHR to split barn doors in the back. I'm 6'3, but I'm used to ducking in smaller spaces. Maybe put some foam on the tailgate so it doesn't hurt so much.
