Rear Sidemarker

How does one go about replacing a rear sidemarker lamp?

The rear is easy, use a phillips screwdriver to pull the screw and then take the lense out by twisting it 90*. The bulb then twists out from the lense. It's a 194 size bulb.

All I did was lay on my back and reach up under the car to where the marker is and screw the bulb holder, replace bulb and put it back. Seemed easier but slightly messier if the ground isn't clean.

rear easy, front hard

Yeah, rear is easy and front is a pain. Of course, girlfriend's newly acquired HHR arrived with two working rear side marker lights and two dead front side marker lights!

Thanks for the info. The first sounds good as we now have 2 foot of snow on the ground and it is extremely cold.
