Recirculate / Ac Compressor

(Mods may have to move this)

Can someone post any info they have on altering the RECIRCULATE button so that it only activates the blower doors and NOT the AC compressor?
I've been tempted to pull the panel out and see if there are 2 wires leading off the switch or if it's just 1 with a computer control somewhere operating the 2 different functions.

Anyone know how?

I'd like to do the same. I'm sure the general public likes the AC on automaticly with some modes, such as defrost, but I'd like full manual control of the AC compressor.

The defrost modes already activate the compressor. I'm OK with that function. I've never owned a vehicle though that the RECIRCULATE function also turns on the AC compressor.

I'm sure there was a reason for this. It's unknown to me though.

Maybe I'll pull the panel out this weekend. Somewhere the system sends a signal to the compressor to activate. It doesn't matter if its compressor direct or thru the computer, it can still be intercepted.

Cool

The compressor activates a second system which removes moisture from the interior. From breathe and body persperation. (sweat)

So when ever recyle is on the compressor comes on also to start the evap!
