Towing

I am getting ready to buy a HHR and on the chevy home page with all the line-up you click on the HHR and it says towing 1000lbs. I guess that is correct. I do want to pull a small trailer at times.

If I remember right.... Transmission coolers are usually for Automatics...

And for 2008 ... Chevy stop installing them in the vehicles....

Which hitch? I'm thinking of moving about 1300 miles and may tow a trailer for the move. Mostly my bed, computer and TV.

Well, my 87 Buick Grand National Turbo was not rated to tow anything, towed my 3000# boat like gangbusters, would even chirp the tires shifting to second if hard on the gas. I wouldn't be afraid of towing if you just use common sense, don't go over 1500# or so, and I would recommend a trans cooler added if you have an auto, thats part of the common sense part. :) Lots of extra load creates heat with the auto. Might consider an upgrade to the SS brakes, and possibly wider tires if you are pushing the limit on weight, cause its just as important to stop as it is to pull. ( you can take your time on accelerating, but you may not have a choice when having to stop suddenly)
