Question towing capabilities / trailer towing package

I know the towing capabilities are very limited but I want to know exactly what is included in the tailer towing package.
Mine doesn't have that option.

What exactly is included in the trailer towing package?
Is it simply suspension?
Are there trans/axel modifications/upgrades?

First, Welcome to the Club and Enjoy the Ride.
Second, I have no idea about the towing Package, it was not offered on the 2006.

I'm assuming you are inquiring about trailer towing in an HHR. If that is the case, you are correct trailer towing is very limited. But, I'm not aware of a trailer towing option for the HHR.......at least not be GM. Anybody else, would be quite subjective.

There is no tow package to my knowledge unless its new for the upcoming 2008 models. As far as towing capacity (From the Chevy site):

ECOTEC 2.2L DOHC, 16-Valve, Four-cylinder both LS & LT Trailer Capacity 1000 lbs. max.
ECOTEC 2.4L DOHC, 16-Valve, Four-cylinder LT Trailer Capacity 1000 lbs. max.

Maximum trailer weight ratings are calculated assuming a base vehicle, except for any option(s) necessary to achieve the rating, plus driver. The weight of other optional equipment, passengers and cargo will reduce the maximum trailer weight your vehicle can tow. See your Chevy dealer for additional details.

I would assume that the "package" (wherever offered) would only be the hitch/w ball and wiring harness.

Where are you coming up with a towing package? All HHR's can tow the above mentioned capacities with a hitch and wiring harness.

The answer is check the Chevy website and you'll see there is no towing package available for the HHR. If it is something your dealer is offering then you have to check with them because it's probably just a bar, hitch, and wiring harness.

Note the towing is only recomended for the automatic transmission and not for the stick
