When I had my other HHR with the Solstice wheels on it, only thing it did was made the speedo off by like .5 MPH. If you stick with tires that are close to the factory size, you will be good to go.

One additional note worth mentioning to 1151 & goetylsd :

Tires cost less for 16", than 17" as the 17"s take a low-profile tire.

Less rubber but costs more,

And FWIW:
And '08 did not come "chrome Clad" either, that began for the 09 model year..

Sleeper, the HHR Shadow edition came with them as it's a certified "Special Edition".. correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Also, tire wise, I knew that. Priced out the 16"s at Discount tire. For 16's and Blizzaks, it was 440 and I could get them mounted free. (Connections back home)

Just FWIW remember the Blizzaks will die a quick death if you run 'em year round, soft compounds hate summer heat and highway running. That said, Blizzaks are hard to beat on ice, liked mine when I lived in snow country.

Right, that's what the tire tech said. Once the snow dies off, take these off quick, or they WILL take a royal dump, and quick.

Chrome clad is basically a cover thats non-removable. If you look at Chrome clad wheels, look close. The chrome portion is attached to a basic steel wheel. So try & check "chrome clad", tap on the chrome clads and you'll feel a difference between those and the standard polished aluminum. GM found a less expensive way to chrome more wheels then just getting the steel or Alloy ones dipped..

Starting for the '09 model year. They are like Plastic-Chrome fitted hub caps.
