RPO Code lists (Options)
Inside the glove compartment of the HHR, there is a tab showing all the factory build codes for the equipment and options on that particular vehicle.
Does anyone have a reference that details the contents of these codes ? |

I think, the original poster should request this as a "stickey". Questions come up frequently regarding an option and build code.

I believe that my question was misunderstood. I don't mean ordering codes for a new vehicle. (Although some of the codes are the same as the codes used for ordering)
The codes I am talking about are build codes that show all factory items that were installed on the car, such as : Type of transmission; Axle final drive gear ratio; Rear sway bar; Brake system, Seats; Interior color code,etc. It shows the paint code for the exterior, and what type of paint was used. It breaks down every item that would have been a choice for a worker on the assembly line. There are about 50 such codes listed on my 2008 HHR SS, most of them being 3 digit alpha numeric codes. It is much more extensive and inclusive than the codes used by a dealer ordering a new vehicle. I have seen these codes for older GM products, but I don't know where to find a listing of the codes for current products. |

The 2009 list seems to be incomplete. My 2009 LS has a few codes on the glove box sticker that are not on the list above.
The missing codes are: JJD R9N SLM 6AE 7AE 1SZ & 14I - the "I" is really an I and not a 1(one) |

6AE, 7AE, BQ2, FLT, R6F, R9N, VN9, YF5 and 1SZ Also any idea on the maximum depth of the radio area? thinking of swapping out the current radio for a 2-Din w/GPS is there somewhere I can find the pinouts on the existing wiring harness. Figured I might as well get all my questions out at one time. |

RPO Codes and Remote Keyless Entry
I just bought a 2010 HHR LT. I believe this car use to be a rental/fleet car. It appears to not have remote keyless entry (RKE) how can I verify it is not installed even though it comes standard on all models. I bought my car from a Chevy dealer but they only gave me one key without a fob. I will be going back to talk to them so I will try to remember to talk to them. But I also have a list of RPO codes that didn't show up on the list.

Now lets break down those codes.... BZ3 - GM PRODUCTION WEEK #12 (Built in the 12th week of 2010) C1U - Enterprise Rent A Car FLT - FLEET PROCESSING OPTION R6F - IDENTIFY B CODE USERS R9N - PROCESSING CODE - SEAT VQ2 - FLEET ORDERING AND ASSISTANCE VX7 - LONG TERM DAILY RENTAL PROGRAM 1SZ - OPTION PKG DISCOUNT 6AE - FRONT SPRING 7AE - REAR SPRING So you are correct, your vehicle is an ex Enterprise fleet/rental vehicle, it does have keyless entry, so the dealer owes you a fob/fobs. You do not have remote start, and it is unable to be installed on post 2009 HHR's unless you go with aftermarket equipment. The RPO codes you have are all internal fleet codes used by GM except for the last two, those are assembly RPO codes for the springs specific to the 1LT model. |

Chevy Manager, I purchased my 2011 hhr two months ago, my service parts id label is missing from glove box. I have talked to several people about this-nothing they can do. Is there anyway someone can bend the rules or if they know a way around this to be able to get a copy of the original sticker or a brand new one? If you provide your vin and proof of ownership, I don't see why there would be a problem especially when the vehicle was just purchased. Thanks.

No use copying another label, the chances of finding another HHR perfectly identical to your are pretty slim, once the build tag is gone, its gone.
A dealer can use your VIN to generate a list of the RPO options on your particular vehicle, then you can keep that with it for future reference. |
