Question Running Board Issue

Am I the only one who's got this problem? (Ignore the dirt, she'll be clean on Saturday!)

Hoping the attachment works...

My vision on the computer isn't great, but is the non-slip tread delaminating from the board?

I would have them order you a new tread and have it installed later when it comes in.

Fixing something like that might not hold properly and then your'e right back here again...

Just my $0.02

I just got back from the dealer. They were stumped and said that they'd have to get with GM on it. If it's a heat issue, we're in serious trouble this summer! They aren't glued in, just snapped according to the guy at the body shop.

I'm in search of a replacement insert in polished chrome. Diamond plate sounds good to me!

I remember back in the 80's when I lived in California, we would go to Las Vegas in the summer and from the dessert heat the vinyl roof on the my Dad's car would get bubbles in it, once we got to cooler weather the bubbles would disappear.

I've been working on this since last November, trying to get billet aluminum running board plates made.. We are having difficulty getting a vendor to commit to such a large piece. Weight for shipping is also a concern as freight prices are skyrocketing now. Then of course there is packaging! Custom boxes have to be designed to protect the plates during shipping (so they dont' rub each other), and must pass a 200lb burst test due to the high weight of the plates. We also have to "buy" the die for cutting the boxes since they are a custom size.

Maybe now you can see why this project keeps gettting put on the back burner!

I'm not gonna give up though!
