A few months ago I was involved in a minor front end collision (I was sitting still at a stop light) anyway the car was repaired by a reputable shop and paid for by the other parties insurance. They used all genuine new GM parts for the repair. So on to the problem. I was under the hood yesterday and noticed that the inside of the steel bumper support was not painted and had surface rust all over it I called the shop and I am going to take it back so they can look at it this evening.

I am curious is this part painted from the factory? See Picture below. (sorry about the crappy camera phone photo) Does anyone have a photo?

 

Went to the body shop this evening. He looked at it and agreed that it shouldn't be that way. They are going to take the bumper support off and paint it and make it right.

 

Thats good atleast their taking it and making it right...

 

hard to kill rust once it has reared its ugly head

 

Surface rust isn't bad, its the deep cancerous ulcers that are hard to stop.

 

I took the HHR in this morning to get the support painted. I got a Camry for a rental.

Why do people buy those things. The steering is sloppy, the transmission is crap, the ergonomics suck, the stereo and climate control looks like it was assembled from rejected Lenox Sound parts from Wal-Mart, And it screams Boring!
