Has anyone tried the new ngk Ruthenium spark plugs? I noticed rock auto is selling them. Just curious. Supposed to last longer and fire better than iridium.

Are they as good as unobtainium?

 

Well I don't know anything about those plugs but the melting point of ruthenium is more than 1000°F higher than platinum, for what that's worth, so it's plausible that they'll last longer, but I have no idea why they would improve performance when new.

 

Just asking, every body can calm down. Didn't know spark plugs was that much of a touchy subject.

 

Interesting, my V-2 Kawasaki powered mower runs NGK plugs, I may look into seeing if there is a cross -over to these type spark plugs.

 

AC Delco 41-103 iridium plugs are the plugs of choice as the engine is designed specifically for them, after all these years , it’s hard to change.

 

Yes, and the ACDelco are supposed to last 100,000 miles. If Ruthenium really lasts significantly longer than that, they would likely be fused to the head.

 

Yeah, plugs bond nicely to aluminum heads, left in that long .

 

Good info on the plugs . I'll grab a AC Delco 41-103 iridium plugs 4 pack next week at work ! Nice having a PT job at a auto parts store that has employee discounts :) I only have 80k on the clock but will just do the early
