Sex of HHR owner/drivers
I was wondering how if we could do poll on the sex of HHR drivers, not sure how to do it. I saw a few years ago, the they found most PT owners were middle age women. Just curious, who likes the HHR style and ride the most, women or men?

I'm male and 47 on 11/25 bought the car because we have a 1-year old and my previous car was a truck. I was looking for something with hauling room, baby room, and great mileage. I test drove the Honda Element, Ridgeline truck, and several small 5-door hatchbacks - nothing else came close to the HHR.

City driving will drag your MPG down in a hurry. The HHR computer calculates mileage on current speed, distance traveled, engine RPM, and current throttle position. At highway speeds these things remain more constant, but with city stop/go driving, every time you stop accelerating and start to "lightfoot' it, it's time to stop again (for a light, stop sign, or an errant kook). Everytime that throttle opens up...mileage starts to go down. Letting off the accelerator completely while coasting to a stop sign or light will boost MPG also.
Try resetting your MPG computer at the next refill and diligently "lightfoot" it. Keeping the RPM's under 2000 while cruising will help some. MPG always comes at the expense of exciting power - you can't have both! I'm currently getting 27MPG around town and just completed a 160-mile trip at 32MPG (elevation went from 1200-6800ft. too!).

I'm a 28 year old male who bought the HHR because I needed room for my family. I have a two year old, a nine year old step-daughter, and my wife is due with our second child in a week. The HHR is the first family size vehicle that made me want to give up my Mustang.

I'm a 38 year old male and I bought the car because I had to start driving to work (45-50mile round trip) every day versus taking the bus, and my 95' Suburban was killing me at 12mpg! I love the looks and the price. Just under 20K for mine.....

Hello Everybody in Chevyhhr, This will be my first post but I'm a 21 year old Male and I bought this vehicle becuase i need the cargo space to carry my tools and all my school books & to save on gas but, especially because it looks so bad ass

59 and purchased the spot red LT2 traded in a 2002 Tahoe. Like the milage, was worried about the 4 cylinder engine, but after driving the HHR that isn't a problem at all.
I am getting around 25 mpg around town and on the highway I am getting around 27 mpg. Highway speed is normally set at 72 mph, but from time to time it is pushing 80.
