Shifter Removal Help

I am in the process of repairing the shifter lock-out pin and would like to know how to disengage the transmission cable from the auto shifter assembly (have removed the clip already) any help will be appreciated.

Thanx sleeper, but it is disconnecting the cable from the pin on the shift mechanism, (does it pull off or is it clipped?) I do have the shift nob off.
Thanx again for the reply.

Schmoo,

Check out the installation instructions on this link. The first few pages show how the shifter is taken apart.

Thanx all. I'll try to snap it off as suggested, just worried I may break something. Thanx again.
