Auto Shifter removal
As I push the button to shift out of park, the pin doesnt go past the brake interlock. At first the interlock wasnt working so some electronic spray cleaner made it work again. But the pin the button moves isnt going past the brake interlock. I have to manually push the pin down to shift out. Im trying to remove the shifter now but dont see how to disconnect cable from shifter.

I have to fix the same problam on my 2006. I have push the rod back in place too many times and need to make a permanent fix. I saw the thread on making a new part out of a plastic rod. My concern is unbolting the shifter from the floor board. When I started to back off the nuts, the bolts started to turn also. I can't see how to get to the bolt head. Is there a thread that shows how to remove the 4 bolts? Thanks so much.

Once the side plastic panels are off insert a screwdriver thru the lower slots to hold the nuts. Also use the search for shifter repair. Hope this helps, it did for me. Lots off info on here from other members.

Dorman does have an affordable replacement rod kit.
But that does not address the interlock solenoid problem. The button on my 2011 is getting stuck when cold, but I hear clicking. It spent 3 nights at the Carmax shop, but of course, it worked fine for them. If it turns out to be the brake switch, they changed the part to a $65 part instead of the $15 on previous years.
