sore ears

hi
we're thinking about buying an HHR, and loved everything about it until we opened the l.r. window and got this intense drumming sound in the car which actually hurt our ears.
We need a vehicle that we can open the rear windows on for our dog to hang her head out
The noise was unbearable, has anyone else experienced this problem, and is there a fix or mod for it. Iwas wondering if vent visors would help
THANKS
ART

You can read more about that problem on the thread below. I've never experienced this, however, I added the stick on window visors too. (In channel for HHR weren't available then)

I hear ya, no pun intended, mine does this also,
If you crack the front windows a little the drumming goes away.

This is a problem with nearly every four door vehicle. It's also described in the HHR owner's manual. Lowering the front windows a bit will resolve the problem.

It's the first car that I've owned that does it.

Previously owned vehicles......
  • 88 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 2dr
  • 75 Chevy Nova 2dr
  • 89 Suzuki Sidekick
  • 89 Dodge Colt
  • 79 Mercury Capri
  • 75 Ford Maverick

Come to think of it, this is the first 4 door vehicle I've owned.
