there is a blueish chroma/pearl painted one down the block. i will try to get a pic of it but i dont always see it. i thought it was a 'summer edition' but do not really know. it is the only one that i have seen in this color.

 

All special editions are in the first post of this thread, none blue.
Of course we all think our own is pretty special. I like the imperial blue metallic, its a dark blue. 2006 had daytona blue, a medium blue that is also nice. In 2009 they started with aqua blue. Probably the rarest blue is blue flash, its light, almost a baby blue in bright sun, seems to have some pearl in it, maybe that's what you saw.

Maybe the special paint color makes it appear that way from the belt-line down?
The TOP of the car(above the belt line) looks DARKER than the lower half

and FWIW, a Shadow Edition AA5 is just AMAZING!

 

Just how the light was hitting it. I have a BGM (Shadow Edition) HHR myself..
