Spring has arrived down south

To all our northern members still dealing with all that winter weather and the aftermath.
I pulled over next to my neighbors farm field and took a quick picture.

Our winter wheat just started showing it's sprouts! Grass is still dormant.

Our grass is just now starting to green up.

Not sure what that field green is called. Something they grow between plantings. It gets plowed under as food for the next planting.
Probably going to be peanuts, sweet potatoes or cotton. That's all I've seen planted in this field the last 15 years.

It's called winter rye and we use it down here every winter.

If you're saying that's the stuff in my picture, I don't know.
That stuff in the picture will get about 5 feet tall before they spray it, kill it, then plow it under.

Same temps here in NC George, but cloudy and threatening rain until Sunday. We're taking a Mini-Vacation here at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, we'd hoped for sunshine, but it isn't cold or snowy...so all is good.

Our trip over was the "Maiden Voyage" of my newly issued company non-car, for the next year I've got a 2015 KIA Soul 1.6 GDI to zip around in. It's a box with wheels, but it'll save piling up miles on the HHR's, and the nondescript dark tan paint seems to render it invisible to State Troopers.

Neat , Mike , do try the merlot, at the winery there ! And enjoy the gardens, love the history of that place! We were there in August 2013.

Here's a treasure hunt for you, ELP used one, and so did many more musicians, it might be confused with steering and suspension parts and was founded in Asheville, NC back in 1953.
what is it?

Oddly enough, we drove by the building yesterday Oldblue.

The answer is The R.A. Moog Co. later known as The Original Moog Music founded in 1953(in Trumansburg, New York) to manufacture Theremins and Theremin kits, and later on the world famous Moog Synthesizers.

Moog moved to Asheville in 1994 after a series of bankruptcies, and a corporate dissolution in 1993, so technically the current Moog Company is new business entity. But Robert Moog was involved with it and he lived in Asheville until his death from inoperable brain cancer on August 21, 2005.
