No matter what you use the front slop and narrowing hood on a HHR leaves a lot of exposed paint surfaces.
It is the only vehicle I have ever owned that I think I kill as may bugs with the side of the hood as the front.

I have installed such kits on motorcycles... has a high difficulty. Worse than tinting windows but similar in application.
