Stone guards for rear fenders

I'm a new guy to the network AND a new HHR owner. I'm kinda saying Hello! and asking a question at the same time. I'm really frutrated,I've seen some HHR's with thick stone guards on the front of the rear fenders (instead of the original thin protective film) but no one seems to know where they came from????? I checked several "Dealers" and they haven't the foggiest idea what I'm talking about! I thought I got smart and then checked some after-market websites and came up empty AGAIN. Can ANYBODY tell me where I can buy them and how much they are?

I think they came on 2006 models, not sure about 2007, but they were not on 2008s. GMpartsdirect.com lists a rear door body side molding in different colors for $77, but you should call and make sure its what you need.

They were a factory item for the HHRs that didn't have running boards to help prevent sandblasting of the rear fenders.

Prod is right on here. The early models had more definitive guards. The new models have a thin plastic unit.

Will, there is a large thread about people having paint damage on the rear doors. If you bought the vehicle from a GM dealer, they may do something for you. Most are able to get the affected areas repainted and some are offered running boards at a reduced cost.
