sun roof problem

My wife opened my roof with one switch and then tried to close it using the other switch. Now when I try and use it I get a ratcheting noise like it is out of time, took me five minutes of fiddleing around to get it closed again. Can anyone help?

I know the switch closest to the driver opens/closes it, but can use the other switch to close it as well (otherwise it just pops it open).

Not sure what you mean by ratcheting? Is it a noise?
Mine will occasionally squeek when I close it, but that is when it is dirty (I only wash it once a month).

Well she tilted it with the pass side sw, then tried to close it with the fwd- back drivers side sw. The ratchet noise is like a cable or gear drive jumping at the end of its range. At one point in time either sw.would tip the back up and close back halfways. I guess It's just confused and needs to go to the window doc. Just looking for some feedback on similar problems. Just acts like something got out of phase. Just makes the noise at the end of its run just before it closes fully. Thanks guys.

take it to the dealer or some place. You should be able to close it and open it w/ either switch interchangably.

I think that it was a $750 option on the new car sticker!

Must have been a good amount of labor!
