Sun Visor question

Does anyone have a solution of how to get the drivers side sunvisor all the way up against the windshield? It hits the rear view mirror. Looks like GM made them about 3 inches too long. When down all the way against the mirror I have to look under it with the power seat all the way down. Anyone have an idea or another sunvisor made to replace it. Annoying as all get out and I am only 5'11" tall.

Hate to state the obvious, but since the mirror is adjustable with quite a range of motion, have you just tried moving it into a different position so it clears the visor but still lets you see to the rear?

I'm 5' 11 3/4" tall and have no issues with the visor, I think you just have to play around with the mirror adjustment a bit.

I think they mean that they want it snug to the window, not just over there..

Is the right side pivot point of the visor engaged into the pivot? Or, is the visor just pulled all of the way out (it is adjustable) and hitting the mirror? I slap own forehead occasionally.

I’m 6’2” most of the time and I do not have any problems with the sun visor when I fold it down and push it toward the windshield.

I’m betting you just need to move the mirror a bit so it will clear.

Clear.. it hits the mirror about 3 or 4 inches. Why should I have to move the rearview mirror and readjust it everytime the visor goes up? Maybe my 2010 with the on star has a longer mirror ? GM couldn't see that the visor would hit the mirror? Maybe they have a shorter visor that won't hit it? What poor engineering.

I suppose since my HHR is an ‘06 the visor might be shorter than in a newer one.

I had not thought of that.

Ok. My 2010. Went out and put both visors down and all the way forward. Guess what? Neither one hits the mirror. The mirror is dead center between the two.
Question for the OP.You do know that the visor will extend on the visor arm?
Maybe yours is extended 3 -4 inches and you didn't realize it. It might just need to be slid back into place.

I'd really like to see how the OP has that mirror set, just came up from playing around with the mirror and visors on my 2011 and I can't duplicate the issue he's having...I'm confused.
