I have been using Super Tech Fuel Injector & Carburetor Cleaner and Super Tech Fuel Treatment in my 2006 Chevy HHR for ~ 6 months now. I use the injector cleaner one month and the gas treatment the next. I don't have any problems with my car, I'm just using it as a preventative measure. I was wondering if the Super Tech brand does what it should, or if I should use a name brand like STP of Gumout. Is the Super Tech the same stuff or is it just a waist of money?

Another thing I was looking at the MSDS sheets for the Super Tech Gas Treatment and the Super Tech Injector Cleaner online, they look like they are the same thing. Are they the same thing?

There's no need to use it unless you're buying crappy gas all the time. Stick with brand name gas it usually has adequate detergent agents in it.

The best pour-in-tank injector cleaner you can buy is BG44K. Available at some Chevy dealer parts counters. 2nd to BG44K would be Redline Complete Fuel System Cleaner.

Seafoam here too. I realize it probably doesn't need it, but it doesn't hurt to use it either. Not all that expensive and I use it at every oil change.

I don't think you can get Seafoam here unless you drive to the coast, but that's the wrong kind

I usually put in STP fuel injector cleaner every 5,000 miles or so.

A habit I developed after getting clogged injectors in a previous car, even though there were cleaners in the gas. Now I only use Top Tier gas, but still put a bottle through.

Not true. Most gas is perfectly fine. The problems are the in ground tanks. Old tanks af course are the worse. But any tank after a it has been refilled stirs up all the crap at the bottom and guess where it goes if you stop by soon after (or during like some do). That goes in your tank. All fuel tanks have sediment on the bottom. Exxon is no better than ElCheapo.

Read the label on a bottle of BG44K and then read the label on a can of Seafoam. Seafoam can also be used as a top engine cleaner, clean sludge out of the botton of an engine. It is a much better cleaner than any typical fuel injection cleaner. That is why I only use it once a year, it is not needed more than that. Do some rearch and you will see a huge differance.
