Tailgate won't open
#11
It "clicks" when the touch pad is pressed. won't open.
I hope you are not expecting it to swing open by itself. You still need to lift with your hands. I don't know how long you have owned the car.
A tip when closing the tail gate: don't push on the chrome part that hides the touch pad or you will dent the metal.

DonBrew, thanks...I think? Funny the potential difference between the written word and the spoken word...I'm going to assume that you don't really think that I'm a moron ?? lol
We'e owned the truck fo over a year and a half, the liftgate/hatch/tailgate has operated as it should up until now. I'll get to it by the weekend and update you.

You wouldn't believe some questions from new owners and you didn't say.
Some people have only experienced those tailgates that open when you wave your foot under the bumper. You know the ones that don't know what to do with the key

Well, only a month later...I had my wife operate the tailgate from the outside as I gave a shove or two and it opened!! Turns out a cargo net originally from our old GMC Jimmy that I had previously installed was caught in the latch!
Problem solved!! I love an easy fix!!
Thanks for all the help posted here!!
