TCM problem?
I just checked my fuse and it’s in good shape. I have never had electrical problems on a vehicle like this before. From the looks of the forum, I would say they are common for an HHR. Do I have all of this to look forward to on my 2006 Saturn Ion? They share the same drivetrain and electricals.
Hard shifting is rarely ever the TCM. It is usually some seemingly unrelated fault that causes it. The computers put the TCM into open loop when some performance codes set.
I don't know of any relation to the power steering, it might be the cause of the shifting symptom. When we know the code we will know more.

So I’m not throwing any codes. From a stop it won’t shift until about 3500 rpm. Then from first to second around 4000 rpm. It doesn’t seem to shift in to high gear on the expressway either. I think I was riding around 4500 rpm’s on the E-Way. Slow acceleration too. Just bought it and they had to replace the left front wheel hub. And issues. Then they said they replaced the trans speed sensor. I’m guess the output speed sensor. What could this problem be? Bad TCM or VVT. 2.4 with 122,750 miles. 2006 LT
