That sure looks like a 2LT wheel, must have been a powerful wind it encountered.

I was thinking Cobalt as well but the photo caption referenced their 'truck'.

This is a hard one, but I'm gonna guess Cobalt sedan. If you notice the rear bumper sticking up, looks like there is a spot for the license plate.

It's a Cobalt and the storm claimed the lives of the three chasers that were in it. Tim Samaras, his son Paul, and Carl Young all passed away during the storms that swept through Oklahoma on the 31st of May. These were some truly great men who dedicated their lives to better understand tornadoes and increase warning times. If it wasn't for them and other storm chasers like them we wouldn't be where we are today in terms of advanced warning times to give those in the path of a tornado more time to get to safety. They will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to their families.

I too am inclined to believe it was the white crew cab truck that this team could be recently seen in.

Boyd Matson of Nat Geo Radio held a phone interview with Tim earlier Friday and while I didn't hear it, the transcript gives impression it focused on the hazards associated with a tornado abruptly changing course when chased up close.
