Thinking of buying an HHR. Any wisdom?
Thinking of buying an HHR. Any wisdom?
I just started lurking today and made one realization... even though I do not want the running boards, they may save me some paint chips.
Any words of wisdom for me?
I am going for a 2LT with everything but OnStar.

I own a 2LT with everything but On-Star... however I also have the running boards & factory "logo" mudlaps.
IMHO... I would get the running boards & mudflaps! If you're already thinking of going "fully loaded" why not get them??
No chips or paint problems with my HHR so far.

I bought mine off the lot and had the running boards. I think the car looks just as good with or without them and the cost is $495 if I remember correctly. If I had it to do over I prob would not have gotten them. or the luggage racks for that matter. just my $.02.

Originally, I didn't want the running boards but now I'm glad I have them!
I also wish I woulda got the running boards. But this being my first car i COULDN'T wait. So i picked from what they had. If i wanted running boards I would of had to go with an LS and I didn't want to do that. I'd say definetely get the running boards. It looks so much better with them.
I bought mine without the running boards, and roof rack! I also have a 2LT with everything but xm, spolier and onstar. I went back and bought the running boards and the plastic logo mudflaps....great investment! I have no paint chips what so ever and it really does make the car look more retro. I like it much better then the silly ol' deflectors or whatever they are called, by the way when they install the running boards after the fact, they do not charge you the same price as an option, they charge you full price! So in my book it is better to get them as an option!
