You can Google your tire size add the word 'diameter'.

Like, 245/65r17 diameter, or whatever size you may have on it now.

I’ve run 225/45-18 on Cobalt SS rims , didn’t like the harsher ride or the slight hydroplaning in the rain!

Sorry, I’ll be a little blunt here, but this is a naïve question.

Makes no difference if it’s an SS or not. Except that the SF springs are a little lower. Do you intend to use lowering springs? This is a very complicated issue. But long story short, the 225/45R18 used on the SS is about the largest diameter tire that reliably fits, and it’s a bit wider than what comes on a LS or an LT. The diameter is limited by clearance from the front strut spring perch. Replacing those front struts with “coilovers” would obviously change everything.

The offset you need will depend upon the width of the tire and the width of the rim and the diameter of the rim and the ride height is determined by the spring.

The guys that do a lot of modding to their cars flare fenders, tear out plastic wheel liners, cutaway sheet metal, live with rubbing, and more.

So, are you ready to do a lot of research, and to experiment, and to endure expensive mistakes?

Also obviously, your speedometer will be off.

Using a wheel larger than the 18” that is used on the SS necessitates using a very low profile tire, resulting in a very harsh ride, by most accounts.

245/45R17 is a nice compromise that should work nicely with an 8” wide rim and about a 35 mm offset. (No guarantees it won’t rub at full lock though. Pretty sure it will be fine but, IDK. And it’s available. I like these. Awesome price at Sam’s Club. Recently bought them in the 2LT stock size, 215/50R17, very happy so far. (Wife wasn’t interested in going bigger, so I cheaped out. Plus, unnecessarily large tires just add unsprung weight, making ride and handling worse.)
