I can tell you these little cares are built like a tank. some of you may know many may not, but I have an 06 had ot for about 6 months and some 17 year old turned in front of me. smashed up the front end pretty bad, just not enough to total it. Airbags went off fine, I walked away little stiff and p**sed off but ok. I was going about 40 mph when she turned in fron of me.

I think there are photos in the gallery of the car. But I will say again these cars are tough. Some other memebers have also been in wrecks and walked away, everything from just hitting someone, to hitting a deer to rolling it a few time.

Edit I just looked no pics here, will see if I can find them and post

That doesnt look like much to be totalled.

Thats crumple zones for you.

New cars are all designed to fold up on impact to soften the blow to passengers. Sucks for the car, good for you.

Ed-those arent the pictures of the car that was totalled. That car was repaired.

Crumple zones suck for the car, good for you, and GREAT for the car company because they get to sell you a NEW CAR again

Ahh OK.

Well its good that it wast a Honda. Honda uses a thinner gauge steel and dent very easily.

I remember a car show I was at and I was chatting with a guy that had a civic, he was leaning/sitting on his front fender during our conversation and was also tapping the hood while talking. When he got up he saw a butt shaped dent in the fender and about a dozen finger shaped dents in the hood.

So I am happy at the pictures I see above that that car was not too badly damaged.

Its ashame to see any HHR hurt though. Makes me tear up a little.

Agreed. I remember when my HHR was hit, everytime I went to the body shop to see if it was ready and seeing my wounded car...

Years ago I had a Mazda 323. One day a friend was tapping on the roof while we listened to music. When we got out of the car there were little dents all over the place. Import sheet metal is not very durable.
