Track Your MPGs
Track Your MPGs
While reading the auto section of our local paper, I found where they mentioned the website www.fueleconomy.com. It shows new government estimates for mileage on all vehicles produced in the past 20 years. You can also enter and track your mileage and it's used to develop average mileage figures by real drivers, not just government testers.
I entered all mine since I bought the car and I have a combined 25 mpg. Not bad!

Another good website for that is http://mymilemarker.com/
You can even use your web enabled cell phone to enter your information at the pumps!
It even gives you mileage and cost predictions.

We haven't had to put gas in our car since July 28th, so you could say it's doing really well on that tank of gas.............of course, it happens to be sitting at Midway Chevrolet in Phoenix............just waiting and waiting for those people to figure out what the heck they did to it when they changed the oil......which in turn caused it to act up when we went on vacation, and which led to it spending a good deal of our vacation in the Chevy place in Kalispell Montana.......and getting a new camshaft and valve job.....which didn't fix the problem.........so they said "let the people in Phoenix worry about it.............and so there it sits, and sits, and sits. But hey, we're sure not having to gas up often.

Hope your not sorry you bought an HHR.
Good luck with the situation. Hope it gets resolved quickly.
Thanks for the good wishes Bigallis1,
We're sure not sorry we bought our little HHR, just wish we'd get it back. We were really looking forward to enjoying it on vacation, and though the Equinox they gave us to use was very nice, we wanted our little HHR. Now they gave us a 2006 Buick to use, which is also nice, but we want our little HHR back.
It would help if these folks would be nice enough to call us and update us on what's being done, or not being done to our HHR. We have not heard a word, and a week ago when we checked on it they were grumpy, and just said they ordered new parts, but didn't tell us parts for what?
Sure would hate to think it's a lemon, but if they don't get with the program and do something soon, we're going to start looking into the lemon law. Right now all we want is for them to get with the program and either fix our little car, or give us a new one to replace it. We feel like we waited patiently, but between the two visits into Chevy, our litte car has now spent three weeks in the shop, with neither place calling to let us know what's going on.
Like I've said before, these things can happen and there could have been something that just gave out in it, flaws happen, but it sure seems they could be nice and polite about the whole thing instead of trying to pin the blame on someone. Chevy is going to be getting a letter from us concerning this, and their attitude if this keeps up.
In the meantime, poor Little Ticker!

Wow! Isn't it funny that they keep giving you loaners that are more expensive cars than the HHR. They must have really screwed something up.
I hope everything works out but don't be afraid to call the zone office if you don't get satisfaction this time. Any action you take can only lead to Chevy building a better HHR than they do now!

We're going on our third week here with our little HHR in the shop at Midway, plus over a week it spent while we were on vacation. We're not happy campers about this. Every time hubby checks on it, they act like they don't know what's wrong, and they still don't bother to at least call and let us know what, if anything is going on with the process.
SandyBeach, thanks for the tip on calling the zone office. We've been wondering who we should call first to see if someone can look into it and see about getting those folks to get busy and fix it so we can have our little car back. By all rights, they ought to give us back the extra gas money we've had to spend driving this gas hog of a Buick. We did buy the HHR to save on gas. Hubby's ready to call a lawyer.
Seems like they've had it long enough to rebuild the whole engine if need be. The first Chevy place told us that by all rights Chevy will only pay for the first three days for a loaner, so we should consider ourselves lucky to have it as long as we have! Hard to believe that one, after all, it's a brand new HHR, only drove it three months before the problem started.

gasbuddy.com is what I use but I will check out the other sites also..thanks for the heads up
You have more patience than I do Rrailwriter..3 weeks??? Are you kidding me?? That car is screaming lemon to me. I'd would have already been on the horn all the way up the chain in light of how that dealership is treating you.
God bless your patience...no way in hell would I be waiting 3 weeks...new engine or new car...end of story

Little Ticker update:
Got a call from the Chevy dealer out in Chandler, who sold us the car in the first place. They called yesterday to see how we are enjoying our little HHR.... they now know that we had to have it in the shop over a week on vacation, and now going on three weeks here in Phoenix. They also know that we are not at all happy with those inconsiderate idiots who don't even have the courtesy to call us to let us know one way or the other how things are going. They said they would turn it over to someone who is supposed to look into it and call us in about two days. What kind of bet does anyone want to make that we really hear from anyone?
I find it funny that so far there has not been one person at Chevy who's so much as just simply said, "gosh folks, sorry for the inconvenience."
We are in the process of going up the ladder to complain about this. We paid for a new car, and we want that car back, either fixed like new, or with a new engine, or a whole new car or we're going to start complaining to anyone and everyone we can think of till someone does something. We've waited long enough!
