This past winter the trans acted up a few times ONLY in reverse? Cold start, put in reverse, nothing, drive ok, reverse, still nothing then finally it was normal.
Then awhile back I shifted into reverse and nothing again, gave a little gas then BANG... normal.
Yesterday we were running a shop hop for my wife quilting , went to illinoise and back no issues, stopped at a local shop, parked on a slight incline in the lot, came back out put into reverse NOTHING, gave it gas, nothing, put in nuetral and it didnt even roll back??? shifted it into drive, nothing???? shifted through the gears and back into reverse, gave it gas then BANG again and back to normal? What the hell is going on with the trans just randomly not going into reverse or shifting hard into reverse? currently at 167979 on the odometer.

 

Transmission shift solenoids and or the transmission fluid pressure transfer lines cracked.

 

wouldnt that throw a code? No codes showing up

 

Should, but sometimes not.

 

Are these 'BANGS' shaking the vehicle? Does it sound like a hammer hitting?

 

Like a hammer hitting, it just slams into gear all the sudden

 

I would throw a bottle or can of trans fix in it. No codes maybe things be sticky.
