If you want more info about the OP’s car and problem, check out their other threads/posts. There are many. Tells about engine and trans swaps. Starter problems (seems they had starter issues before). There’s even a thread about all the wheels being “locked up”.

Take the large cable off at the stud on the starter. Make sure the cable end doesn't touch anything after hooking up the battery.

Test just like you would with the starter hooked up. Key on do you hear any clicking? Check ignition switch? etc

If you're going to disconnect the main power to the starter, it would be much easier, and a whole lot safer, to disconnect it from the lug on the side of the fuse block. Disconnect the negative battery first, of course.

Read your Owner Manual, directions with drawings are in it. See the link in my sig.
It does that from a dead/disconnected battery.
