Loose ground wire , melted or loose bulb socket.

socket or wiring. If the 2 hot wires are in contact you will be feeding the element 24V.

How soon is it burning out after you replace it?

Remember not to touch the bulb with your bare hands as the oils from your skin will burn out the bulb and sometimes fairly quickly, but we’re talking a while not instant or one day.

Headlight bulbs are the ones you should never touch with bare hands. The other bulbs are not so sensitive. Yeah, don't muck them up, but they are not sensitive to being touched by your fingers.

Dennis, you mean you installed a new socket and still are burning out bulbs?
