When the door is unlocked with the key directly (rather than remotely with key fob) the alarm sounds briefly. Is there a way to change this function?

yes, check in your owners manual. There is a setting in the DIC to disable your alarm.
There is also a thread with a link to an online manual if your is not handy right now! It's *HERE*
I know thats not an exact answer to your question but that will point you in the right direction until someone else chimes in.

 

Thanks. Got it. I had actually read that in the manual but thought it only referred to opening the door with the fob.
