Versatility

The other day, it dawned on me just how wonderfully veratile our beloved HHR's really are. It happened October 28th-Halloween. In the morning, I had to pick up 3 80 pound bags of cement and 8 50 pound bags of sand. I covered the back carpet with a plastic drop cloth to protect it, and the car only sat slightly lower than usual (I have the leveling springs in the back). Still, the worker was surprised that I was loading these supplies into such a nice car. I told him that since the contractor that is putting paver stones in my back yard does not have a vehicle, this is our work truck.

Later that day, I picked up my kids from school and ran a few errands, making it a family car.

In the evening, I washed 'The Flash' then took partook in a Halloween custom car parade. Now the HHR was a show car.

What other vehicle could have performed 3 entirely different functions as well as the HHR

I know what you mean. I had picked up a bag of cement to do some patch work, and some lumber to mill for the wood work I am doing in my home. And like at your supply place, the guy loading the material had a surprised look on his face. That afternoon, I took all three of my dogs to the vet and to the park.

i noticed that too, during my last travel to Florida my HHR was fully loaded and standed about same height, my last ride an 04 Impala SS was lower than my HHR with about the same luggages.

You can always spot the Dodge minivans overloaded with tourists on I-75. The rear end is dragging! But not the HHR. Mine was loaded to the max with the things my son needed for college. The bicycle was on the back. It didn't sag nor did I have handling issues. I love this car!

I loaded 20, 40 pound bags of coal twice and no problems. The last load of 10 bags gave me a ton.

I really think I could have pushed it and went to 25 bags for two trips.

Great versatile vehicle.

Yes, I covered the inside with a tarp.
