What Brand of Gas

I was told by the head mechanic at the dealership where I bought my HHR that the manufacturer actually recommends that you use Shell Gasoline. Is there anyone else that has heard this information or use something else instead?

They do recommend that you buy it at the same dealer every time. My check engine light would come on last summer if I didn't. So now I try to do that unless I'm traveling. Then I buy whatever is cheapest where I exit the interstate.

Never heard of that . The only recommendation is the octane level. I have never seen a manufacturer ever specify a brand of gasoline or recommend you stick with one brand or gas station. Your check engine light probably came one because the gas cap was not in correctly.

Used to use ARCO because it was closest to home. Then they closed that station 'cause it was old, old. Probably some "Enviromental Problem"! Now it's QT, or Union, at a local Circle K. They're the cheapest.
