What Brand of Gas
I'm not sure (someone will correct me if I'm wrong), but I think that PA doesn't allow the blended fuel. When I was stationed in Philadephia 20 years ago, NJ wouldn't even allow self-serve, they still had attendants that had to pump your gas.
NJ still has the attendants...I was like you gotta be kidding me...actually some towns in MA like Weymouth still require full serve...

2.4 Red Rider..no politic'n bottom line for me is OCTANE..I'm lucky..on Tues my corner Valero offers premium for price of reg. so that's what I do..unless away from home..driving too much for a few cents does not compute either.
They do recommend that you use top tier gasolines and Shell is one of those but so is 66 and Chevron and a number of the other well known brand names. I used to use Shell/Texaco until they sold the station in town to Marathon. Now I use 66 if I gas up in town or Shell if one is nearby. I did my own non scientific test and found that I got approx. 6 mpg more using top tier premium than I did with the Walmart special premium. For me that makes the higher priced top tier a better value.
In Minnesota we have no option but to use 10% ethanol fuel. I usually buy my gas at Costco which is usually 10 cents cheaper than other stations. On a road trip last weekend I got 28.6 miles to the gallon. I use regular unleaded gas.
Costco does not use top-tier gas. I discussed this with a Warehouse manager overa half year ago. He didn't know, at the time, and said he would check for information. A little over a week later he called an advised he was told it is not top tier and that it is "surplus" (if you can believe that).......whatever is not allocated to other companies.
