Took my HHR to the shop for what the shop said was a oil and trans. Turns out my engine is leaking from the two halves so there is nothing that can be done without yanking the motor out. Lucky for me the oil leak isn't that major.

Please clarify, what do you mean by "what the shop said was a oil and trans" ?

did you mean oil change and transmission fluid and filter change or oil and trans fluid leak?

do you use synthetic or fossil engine oil?
sometimes synthetic engine oil will seep while fossil engine oil won't

I just switched back to fossil engine 5W30 because synthetic was seeping .

Power steering electric motor, 1 dealer stated it was covered under warranty but did not have one in stock and hung up, my local chevy dealer stated no warranty, so I called the 800 number on the bulletin and spoke with a lady in customer service and gave her the bulletin number she stated there was no recall on the ESP motor only that if I paid and have it installed that it is warranted for as long as I own the HHR, so I left a message this morning to cancel ordering the ignition switch I would rather drive it as is, my salvage ESP motor will be installed Monday morning by a local mech.

Went to local cruise in last night. Got more interest than ever before. Parked the SS with the competition, Dodge Caliber srt, and Mazda cx7. Both were young guys, but car crazy all the same.

I just got off the phone with a person of The National Highway Traffic Adm. Vehicle Safety Hotline, They stat Chevy only goes by VIN number my local dealer checked and my VIN number is not listed for the chevy recall of my 2006 HHR, they stat only the VIN numbers that Chevy gives to the dealers will be covered not by the year.

Drove about 600 miles, today and yesterday combined. Got 91 Premium for $4.07 in Morgan Hill. Best price I could find between here and north bay. Love the YeSYeS!!

My last remark on the ESP motor while looking on Craigs List so many of the junk yards will show a photo of the auto that the motor came from most if not all show front end damage could this be because of the power steering motor failure?????

UH...No. Cars with front end damage are more often "totaled" because of the high cost of front end damage repairs.
The same holds true on just about any kind of car.
