Just this past week: Replaced the front strut assemblies (again, thank you very much Michigan roads) and rear shocks. Also replaced headlight.

Coming up soon: rear "Jounce Bumpers" and lug nuts all around (current ones are beginning to fight the socket - better change out while they still can be easily). Waiting for some warmer weather. Maybe fix the moonroof before summer hits.

Still like this car - 136K miles and can still pull 33-34 mpg on freeway.

Sam, is she out of HS by now and/or married?
I imagine some boys may have wanted to date her JUST to drive the car!

Today we shoveled out of the driveway a wet and heavy snow of about 4 to 5 inches. Went back in house. I’m pooped! ( mid earth colloquialism for tiredness)

Yeah, I slept thru the Super Bowl, and today another 5 inches of fresh power, I’d get excited, but , I don’t SKI, the snowthrower is down waiting for a governor linkage arm.
Have a doctors appointment in Niagara Falls this afternoon, probably stop out for a coffee with Sweetie.

I've been away for a bit, as I moved and it's taken awhile for me to get settled into my new place.

As for what have I done to my HHR?

I picked up a leather SS steering wheel off eBay for $60. Was very easy to remove the airbag, etc, thanks to courthousedeb's "radio control installation instructions" as well as the "Got my steering wheel radio controls" thread.

Buuuuttttt... I could not get the old wheel off. I suspect I just didn't have enough physical strength. I also went to both AutoZone & O'Reilly's and tried their wheel pulling tools but they did not work, even though their look up said they did. The problem was, the hooks were too thick to go into the pulling holes.

I considered ordering the GM factory puller, but bit the bullet and went to my local chevy dealer to see how much they would charge to swap the wheels. They did it for for free!

Now it's just a matter of picking up the PAC SWI-CP2 Steering Wheel Control Adapter and installing that, so the radio controls will work with my aftermarket radio.

In any event, just thought I would post a quick update as well as giving a heads up that the generic pulling tools aren't compatible with the HHR steering wheel.

As for the wheel? I'm thrilled that I'm one step closer to having the steering wheel radio controls. Though, smaller wheel looks/feels odd. Am sure I will get use to it.

Oh, and, I replaced the storage box with a back seat. I plan to get matching seat covers, at some point, since my color combo is ebony, and the back seat is light gray. Either way, it is nice to be able to carry more than one other person.

And finally, happy belated New Years, all.

If I remember correctly, you will have to remove the steering wheel again to connect the wires for the radio controls
Just finished the doctors appointment, fun wow!! Off for a coffee!
