finally scored a mint black interior for my panel was in the yard today getting some parts for a motorhome i picked up when i saw them bring in a very nice gold HHR that was poked in the nose. Guy set it down and i was first to get hands on it, got the entire black interior and all bracketry to do a back seat conversion on my panel. Funny thing is my panel never have the rear package tray, it was removed before i got it and as a double bonus there was a black panel in the back of the yard that still had it, may go after it but dont know if i'll ever use it now. Theres two or three HHR's with running boards to so theres another trip in my immediate future . . ..
Starting to go through some routine maintenance things in the last few days with my HHR while also taking care of the CEL issue I had (after doing the oil change and then thermostat/coolant flush a couple weeks ago... seriously, if you don't buy a vacuum bleed kit, at least buy
set if you do anything with coolant). I had a couple side-marker lamps out already, so when a headlight went out last week I went all the way around with new exterior bulbs. (seriously, 194 bulb prices are a joke if you don't look online... a pack of 10 on Amazon was as much as a pack of 2 at the auto parts store down the street). Next up: sway bar links! (I have the right Moogs, ready to be greased and installed this weekend).
And thanks to this wonderful place, I was able to quickly change my Exhaust VVT Solenoid today (and replace the air filter while I was at it). As someone who's horizontally mobile but not so much vertically mobile, I'd say it's comparable to changing a headlamp . Certainly was a piece of CAKE compared to changing the stinking "speedometer gear" on a late-80s Toyota Camry.... this popped right out with a pair of needle-nose vice grips on the metal base, and the new one slid/popped right into place.
Out of curiosity... should I just go ahead and replace the Intake VVT when I get under the hood again? I'll have to replace one of those little air box grommets as it is, and it *really* isn't much extra work beyond that. I'd imagine these were original to the car, there wasn't any paperwork related to having one of these replaced (and the prior owner kept their service receipts).
Great score. I like the chrome plumbing in the background of one photo. Where do those pieces go?
those are four pairs of stainless high performance marine exhaust for a couple boats i'm building. They are double walled and water jacketed.
By the way there is a really nice set of tan leather seats in one of the cars i found in the yard, Toledo area if anyone is looking, $85.00 for front and rear. I may grab them just to have on hand.
cool, maybe its the camera angle. Sure looks lower and leveler then mine. I am thinking of using the factory SS springs or maybe an Eibach kit or something.
