What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Yesterday afternoon was little Willow’s birthday party and when we got home, the PowerStop rear brake kit from RockAuto was at the front door! Not bad ,I ordered it in Wednesday evening
Replaced the rear brakes and while investigating the front end, I discovered the drivers side LCA rear bolt wasn’t even torqued to 74 ft/lbs , I attempted to torque the bolt and surprise! The cage nut is spinning, now I did not use my impact gun, I know better from experience, right fastsuv? Steve and I watched as his battery impact gun broke the cage free in Oldblue, last fall . Good thing he had extra bolts and 14 mm nuts .
to bad the border is still closed, this would be so much easier with Steve’s lift.
I ordered new bolts, and RockAuto says they will be here next Monday, so it clunks, I can still drive it.
the PowerStop rear drum brake kit is awesome, you get everything in the kit from drums , shoes , adjusters and all the springs and clips , even a tube of silicone brake lube. That was the easy part of the day!

No problem. I hope it works for you. Im not sure what happens. If like it gets tightened past the threads? I dont understand how it even happens. I put a new bolt and bushing in there just cause the smooth part of the bolt was chewed up from driving it like that.
Well my donkey self figured out the issue. I thought since i had a loose sway bar bushing bolt it had something to do with that. Im assuming when you wobble the car side to side you should be able to feel the sway bar move somewhat.
But its a wheel bearing.. Its got a good amount of play now. Now that i know that's it, a couple weeks ago i could smell what smelt almost like a stuck caliper. Must've been what was left of the inside of that bearing. Im a delivery driver too lol ill drive it until it breaks. I have a WJB one in the way. The cheapest "heavy duty" one i could get. This is also the 3rd one on that tire.
Maybe if i wasnt a donkey id save and spend 200 on an ACDelco one.

Also, i had a garage try to tell me theyd have to cut a hole in the passenger floor board to get at it and weld it back up once they were done. I was like.. nope.. Driver side on the other hand doesn't look nearly that easy.
