Guess what had happened. Only 152k km at the clock (aprox 95k miles) and timming chain is loose. Learned my lesson and grab cloyes kit with upgraded upper guide bolt. Now funny part, I've paid less in US + shipping and tax duty fee than I would pay for same stuff (unknown brand for me) in Poland. For example crank sprocket is about 20$ plus shipping in ma case about 15-16$ which gives 36$. In Poland same sporcket ina brand is aprox 72$.

Please remember to make sure #1 cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke!!! Before you remove the timing chain!! Ensure the VVT sprockets are lined up at 10 for the exhaust and 2 for the intake, the coloured links won’t be in alignment just the sprockets.

Today a dull rainy day, so not much done, just a drive to get some photo frames and then over to the MIL’s to hang the pictures!

It was very sad and weird the last weekend of September is usually the Last Chance car show here in Welland, but no cars , no crowds, no excitement. and won’t you know it , no rain and nearly 70 degrees out! Hopefully next year will have similar weather! and no COVID 19.

Today , it is clean out the garage day, determine what to keep and what to sell and what is trash.
My little Karcher follow me , 1,800 psi electric pressure washer died a few months ago, so I think the accessories and spare hoses can go into the sell it pile! There are not to many spare HHR parts all my suspension and fuel lines and coolant/ timing chain projects are done, if I took it out and replaced with new parts then the old parts are scrap.
I just bought new winter tires, so I will clean up the plastic fantastic 17” 2LT rims , got to look sharp for winter!

timing chain woes both here and on Facebook! now y'all got me nervous about mine
it's around 116K, should I have it done preemptively? (as soon as my bank account can handle it post COVID)... or should I keep an eye/ear out for signs of it starting to go?

Cheaper to be safe than pay the Big price for being sorry, you waited.

I had some parts chasing to do today, Panel makes me smile. That said, I was gonna wash it for Saturdays last cAr show. But as many know, that will ensure a rainy day. It already has a 50% chance.

Plus I got my Early Vote in.. There was a line, I counted 25 people in line. Was gonna leave, but a gal waiting said the line was moving fast. Glad I stayed, it did go fast.

Finally changed my oil... Over a year, and the DIC still said 68%.

Not driving it as much with the whole COVID deal going on and I didn't drive it much before that. I didn't do a "miles between oil changes" calculation yet. It's probably really low.

This morning was one of those rare occurrences; Perfectly clean ride tucked in the garage - Pouring rain this morning & I have to open the garage door and drive it into the rain... AAAAAHHHHHHHH!
It happens to all of us. That's what I did to my HHR today.
