Blue- When I wet sand I add a drop or two of dish soap to my water, it lubricates the sanding action, & cleans too..

Rainy day, my Panel slept peacefully in the garage.

Thanks, I’ve used Dawn as that lubricant for wet sanding to cut then buff paint, polish aluminium parts for a few decades now.

Today, is just a sit and chill day, it’s snowing again, so we won’t venture out.
Yesterday we did go for a drive , went to Fort Erie, when we got to the Parkway the drifting snow was hard to see thru. At Central Ave, we turned right to head home, there was a plumbers van and a tow truck, tried to get up the slight incline, I stopped for a few minutes to let them clear the left lane, I shifted to I then proceeded up the hill, the winter tires bit in and gripped, no spinning, no sliding, just traction.
It was the first real test of driving thru 4 or 5 inches of snow and ice.

I picked up the Dash Air Vent from Dave Hells Hot Rod .
One of the lover vent on the dash passenger side has one broken pin, Drove me nits lol
So over coffee and being board I took the vent I relieved from Dave to see if I could pop out just the lover section and reinstall w/o removing the dash !
SO with a small screw driver and patience I was able to pop out the lovers and reinstall w/o breaking the tiny pins :)
A bit of a pain but very doable so when the weather warms I will do it on my HHR ! And if I screw it up I know who to call for replacement lol
I can take pics when I do it if anyone is interested , but it is pretty self explanation and even a Putz like me can do it lol

Ok I will. It was easy to do on the kitchen table but hopefully easy while in the car lol
IMO I believe my daughter had her feet on the dash when they borrowed my HHR :O I do not want to remove the dash so easy works for me lol

We have approximately 7 inches here now, mid 20’s for the last couple of days. That nasty snow yesterday was lake effect being at the eastern end of Lake Erie, just south of Buffalo yesterday and to 20, to 30 inches of new snow is predicted.

Not that this is an outstanding case for our region, but the snow is falling and falling.
5-7 inches of snow per night is not a big deal, but another enrages. The f***ng airtemperaturehas gone completely crazy.. Yesterday at the same time it was + 2C, today it is already -20C. And this is not the first time this winter.
The compacted snow surface on which we usually drive without problems with the arrival of the thaw collapses, becomes soft and loose. The wheels of the car fall through the slush, but do not reach the asphalt - the car rests its belly in the snow and lies helplessly rotating the wheels.
In the morning, a garbage truck got stuck in our yard. He got out of course, but with his wheels he turned the road into a lunar surface. The entrance to the courtyard was not in the best condition anyway, now it's just suicide. The snow banks hardened in the frost and turned into ice. My neighbors and I armed ourselves with shovels and leveled the surface as far as we could. But it's like Viagra is to a dead man.. Smaller cars get stuck all the same. On Monday we are hoping for a tractor, but for now, with the help of shovels, muscle strength and obscene curses, we pull the cars out of another trap. Today I have already left the apartment three times in order to extract from the trap the next poor fellow who was stuck in front of my window.

This is how I changed the louver only on the dash vent. I did this on the one I got from Dave so when it warms I'll do it on my HHR,
Pretty simple just use a tiny screw driver or plastic tool.
Twist the screwdriver slow and the plastic vent will bend enough to pop out the louver pivot pin !
I started on the lower pin, then next,
Move the louver around slowly and you can pop out the other side .
When you reinstall the louver start with the lower pivot hole

Radco. I'm guessing that spellcheck is changing your "louver" into "lover".
