That’s great news! Rich!

Today, I changed those swaybar end links.I installed Delphi TC5530 featuring
  • Enlarged ball pin for greater load carrying capacity
  • Cataphoretic coating for superior rust protection
  • Sealed, high grade rubber boot

Ah, peace and quiet!

New link top fastener , lots of room

Old Moog link 9.8 inch , see how the lower fasteners is above the LCA

New 11.8 inch link clears the LCA , this is with the HHR jacked up on safety stands suspension relaxed

Lots of clearance at the swaybar end with new link installed

Same here compressed suspension, note the swaybar end is above the LCA

Here the tires are on and the HHR is down off the jack and compressing the suspension

Clearance at the swaybar at the rear

And here between the swaybar and LCA , the black area lower left of the photo

Fixed key fobs. One wasn't working at all, the other only locked. Turns out the cases were the problem, not the actual transmitter electornics. Cleaned up the electronics with electronic cleaner, snapped them into the eBay replacements I bought and was good to go instead of buying the programmer, or worse, getting new fobs programmed at the dealer. Sometimes the easiest solution is also the cheapest.

Cheap Guy- Agreed, sometimes the easiest way is indeed the cheapest. And other times it really bites the wallet hard..

Thought that my mirror 'compass' quit working only to discover that the magnetic mount for my Garmin was causing the interference.
Turns out that the 'compass' is in the mirror base that attaches the the windshield.
Removed the magnetic mount and all is well.
Good thing as I went to 3 auto salvage yards and did not find the same mirror, auto dimming w/compass.
I found mirrors with OnStar, plain, or auto dimming.
Oh well, I enjoyed the day anyway. Being retired is so much fun.

Nice pics! Glad it worked out so well. No grease fitting!?

The 9.8” links are for FE5, right?

Agreed. I like the hunt. Old days it was so much different. More challenging. Now it's just hit the keyboard & they show up at the door.

Moving right along on the "gotta do" list...

Got the TPMS on the front driver's side replaced - got tired of the light coming on telling the tire was low.

Replaced all four speakers. The two on the driver's side were completely blown. I was going to move the working passenger's side front to the driver's side rear and just go with two new ones up front since I mainly go with front stage, but I didn't want any surprises if they were different speakers - one was made in China, the other made in Mexico.

One thing that was funny was I noticed the car was kinda quiet - apparently all chimes go through the front driver's side speaker so now I "fixed" another issue, not that I even noticed it.

Oh, and one more thing - Crutchfield is really slipping as of late. The speakers, which admittedly were open box - one had a hole in the diapharam material and the others weren't in the greatest of shape. I also thought I was getting the GM adapters but they sent the generic ones. I ended up running down to Best Buy and got the same speakers brand new for $4 cheaper and they also had the GM adapters.
